
Area GLBT Organizations
There are many local organizations serving the needs of the Richmond bisexual, gay, lesbian and transsexual community. Chief among them are the Gay Community Center of Richmond, GayRVA and the Central Virginia Rainbow Partnership. - Gay Community Center of Richmond — A 47,000-square-foot center located in Richmond's Northside for the use of Central Virginia's LGBT community and supportive agencies and groups. It provides meeting space, classroom and event space at little or no cost to community groups and non-profit organizations.
- GayRVA — The Richmond Region’s Web magazine for the LGBT community.
- Central Virginia Rainbow Partnership — On October 25, 2008, nine Central Virginia agencies and groups formed the Central Virginia Rainbow Partnership, a new collaborative organization with the goal of tying together the Region's efforts to end discrimination against the GLBT community. Today more than a dozen LGBT organizations make up the partnership.
- Equality Virginia — Founded in 1989 as Virginians for Justice, Equality Virginia is a statewide, non-partisan education, outreach and advocacy organization seeking equality for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender Virginians.
