- Science Museum of Virginia (next door) - Walk on the moon, serve your own head on a platter or pick up a meteorite at the museum’s new permanent interactive exhibits. Allow 2 hours.

- Canal boat cruise (seasonal) - Join Richmond Canal Cruises for an informative 40-minute, historically narrated tour of the James River and Kanawha Canal. Allow 1 hour.
- Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden - Explore more than 40 acres of gardens, including one of the largest and most diverse perennial gardens on the East Coast, a daffodil and daylily collection and a children’s garden that offers hands-on activities. Allow 2 hours.
Sunday
- Maymont Children’s Farm - Visit with goats, sheep, pigs, chickens, geese, otters and more at this fun farm and nature center. Allow 2 hours.
- Metro Richmond Zoo - Take a walk on the wild side with more than 600 animals, including giraffes (which you can feed), kangaroos and chimpanzees. Allow 2 hours.
