Greater Richmond Convention Center
The Greater Richmond Convention Center is located in downtown Richmond -- just a few blocks off Interstate 95 and only a short drive from Richmond International Airport and the Region's two Amtrak stations.
Inside, the Convention Center has 178,159 square feet of exhibit space and 80,000 square feet of additional meeting spaces and presentation rooms -- including a 30,550-square-foot, dividable grand ballroom, and a 258-fixed-seat lecture hall. The Convention Center also houses a business center and a Cyber Café, offering hot and cold beverages and light fare -- as well as free wireless Internet access throughout the café and Internet access at six, free-standing kiosks. Adjoining parking decks can accommodate 1,540 vehicles, and nearly 4,600 additional spaces are located within a six-block radius of the Convention Center. Nearby hotels include the adjacent Richmond Marriott, a Hilton Garden Inn and a variety of three- to five-star accommodations.
The Greater Richmond Convention Center was built as a result of regional cooperation between the City of Richmond and the surrounding counties of Chesterfield, Hanover and Henrico. Managed by Global Spectrum, the Convention Center is owned by the Greater Richmond Convention Center Authority, which is composed of representatives from these governmental entities and the Retail Merchants Association.
