Student Programs for Groups of All Ages

Richmond Region attractions offer plenty of educational, hands-on and fun learning experiences for students of all ages. Take a look at some of what they offer below.

American Civil War Center at Historic Tredegar - Students will experience the Civil War era through three interwoven perspectives- Union, Confederate and African-American. Participants will study the causes, major events and effects of the Civil War.

Elegba Folklore Society - Enjoy the beauty, wonder and significance of art and artifacts from the African world. Features festivals, visual arts, concerts and cultural history tours.

Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond - The Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond recently opened its doors to a free educational exhibit that explores the power of your decisions on your quality of life, the impact of your choices on the economy over time, the role of the Federal Reserve in the economy.

Henricus Historical Park - Henricus Historical Park features multi-curricular for grades Pre-K – 12. These programs feature age-appropriate, hands-on, team-building activities.

Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden - Discovery Programs for elementary school age groups are offered year round, rain or shine. Secondary school programs are scheduled upon request.

Maymont - Offers a variety of historical, environmental and after-school programs to incorporate into your planning for the school year.

Museum and White House of the Confederacy - Offers a variety of field trip options for elementary, middle and high school students and can be tailored to meet the specific learning needs of your class.

Virginia Aviation Museum - Houses antique aircraft and aeronautical exhibits on the Wright brothers' aircraft.

Virginia Historical Society - Offers a variety of outreach education programs for your students. These presentations are delivered in a hands-on fashion using artifact reproductions.

Virginia War Memorial - Student tours can be custom fitted to your needs. Most school groups allow approximately an hour and a half at the Memorial.
