Day 1
Make your way into Hanover County and stop off for an afternoon wine tasting at James River Cellars, home of award-winning-wines.
Head South on Route 1 into the City of Richmond. Stop for a quick photo op at the Milk Bottle building, a kitschy roadside wonder. The former dairy is now apartments for VCU students.
Head over to Hollywood Cemetery, just off Route 1. This beautiful unique spot is the final resting place for two U.S. Presidents (Monroe and Tyler), thousands of Civil War veterans and boasts amazing views of the James River.
Day 2
Start off your day with stunning skyline views at the Virginia War Memorial. Check out the newly expanded exhibits including a fascinating movie in which it actually snows on you. The Shrine of Memory pays homage to Virginians who have made the ultimate sacrifice in war.
Dine for lunch in Chesterfield County's Historic Halfway House. This historic landmark serves up excellent faire in an authentic setting.
Once you are fortified, embark on a journey back in time at Henricus Historical Park, the re-created second successful English settlement in the New World. Experience days in early America with hands-on activities.
