The Richmond Jazz Festival draws some of the best artists from all over the country, and fans far and wide. This annual event is actually a week-long affair with concerts all over town culminating in two days of music at beautiful Maymont.
Here are 5 reasons you need Richmond Jazzfest 2015 in your life this summer:
Ms. Lauryn Hill
The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill isn't just one of the best albums of the 90's, it's one of the best albums ever. Seriously. We're beyond excited that Ms. Lauryn Hill will grace the #RJF2015 stage.
Arguably one of the first "boy bands" ever, New Edition is a national treasure and we can't wait to see them grace the stage at Maymont: New Edition is a movement that turns the band into an R&B mega-group with its dynamic, razor sharp choreography and larger-than-life on-stage persona that remains the undeniable wow-factor that continues to fascinate audiences.
Maymont is an absolutely gorgeous place to see live music. Strolling the grounds in between sets, eating food and taking in the music and nature make for a magical weekend you can only experience at the Richmond Jazz Festival.
The #RJF2015 is going to be filled with some of the heaviest of heavy hitters in the national music scene, but it's also going to feature some homegrown, #RVA talent. Local artists include: Debo Dabney, Love Logic, Victor Haskins, Sam Reed, Butcher Brown, the Lawrence Olds Band and others.
Spotify user wscoopio put together a Jazz at Maymont playlist to get you started on your #RJF2015 journey. Listen to it here.
