The Dog and Pig Show might sound like a questionable circus act, but it's actually an awesome restaurant in Church Hill. They're taking over our Instagram this week, so we might as well find out who they are:

Who are you?

We are James and Isabel Eckrosh, respectively the dog, and the pig! Our name is based on our Chinese astrological signs, which we found out about each other on our second date. Our takeaway shop is the physical location for all your immediate food needs, but our brand invokes a bit more. We host Sunday Suppers once a month, and also present pop up noodle nights where out menu is entirely different once or twice a month.

What is your favorite thing about Richmond?

Richmond is a diverse place, and the location is perfect. We moved from New Orleans, and this culture has similar qualities such as a love for food and great scenery!

What is your favorite thing to photograph in Richmond?

I'm going to have to go with food, and then our dog Hazel! It's awesome to see how Richmond has embraced the food culture. There's always a place to try and new food to experience.

What is the theme of your takeover?

Both James and I are huge on the idea that made from scratch good food doesn't have to be expensive. Our menu is moderately priced and everything is done in house. The influence on the food are expressions of what James loves- Southern, Creole and Asian. It might sound like an interesting combination- but it works! For example, his signature dish is the Shrimp and Grits which is made with a kimchi and bacon butter.

What is the one thing you take friends to see when they visit?

That depends on the weather! I'd say the botanical gardens if it's nice out just because I love flowers and all things green. Otherwise if we hit a corresponding weekend, The Odd Couple hosts an Open Warehouse sale with all kinds of beautiful vintage finds.

What is the one place you take friends to eat when they visit?

That's tough! But again I'm going to answer with two places- The Rouge Gentlemen for drinks and Metzger's for dinner.

What is your favorite free thing to do in the city?

Without a doubt the South of the James farmers market!
