When you arrive in the Richmond Region, unplug your phone from the aux connection in your car, tune your radio to 97.3 FM and enjoy some local flavor. WRIR has been broadcasting since January 1, 2005 and is one of the few truly local, independent radio stations in the country.
Run entirely by volunteers, this local gem plays local and international music and programs news from underrepresented voices and communities. It's one of the best ways to get a feel for all things RVA. And, when you leave and you want to relive your RVA adventures, you can listen online all the time at WRIR.org.
WRIR is celebrating 10 years on the air with their annual Party for the Rest of Us. Tickets are only 15 bucks and the event features puppets, square dancing and local bands.
