Kids and families love Kings Dominion. There's no better way to spend a day in the Richmond Region than out in the sun, at Soak City and on the rides at Kings Dominion. Kings Dominion is also a great destination for a first, third or 200th date! Here are the top 5 reasons Kings Dominion Makes a Great Date.
1. The cost!
Hit the park after 4 p.m. and your admission costs less than a good dinner. Add in a movie and your date is already way cheaper (also, you'll end up having all the fun yourself instead of paying a small fortune to watch movie stars do it.)
Kings Dominion has all the old favorites you'd expect at an amusement park: dippin' dots, funnel cakes, pretzels and ice cream. They've also got delicious turkey legs (at the totally reasonable price of $8) and barbecue. We were lucky enough to catch the last weekend of Spring Bloom which meant we were able to sample an amazing mac n' cheese with gruyere. Fear not, though, executive chef Paul Maloney has lots of exciting ideas planned for the future.
3. The Tower
Once you're done eating, stroll to the Eiffel Tower at King's Dominion and ride the elevator 315 into the sky and embrace the views. On a clear day you can see all the way to the city. It's a romantic place and perfect location to eat an ice cream on a hot day an listen to the laughs and screams from below.
Kings Dominion has all kinds of games. They've got the ring toss, the squirt gun race, the basketball games. They've got 'em all and we all know there's nothing better than winning your best guy or gal a huge stuffed animal they have to carry around the rest of the day.
This one might seem obvious, given that Kings Dominion is an amusement park, but when was the last time you were on a rollercoaster? When you were 12? 15? 16? We've got news for you, it's a whole different ballgame on the other side of 22. Once your frontal lobe has fully developed, thrill rides are actually that again: thrilling (mostly because you have rational fear now and you actually get anxious while waiting in line....for the first one at least.) Also, the Intimidator is worth the price of admission. Seriously. Sit in the back. It's awesome.
