Henricus Historical Park takes visitors through 400 years of history in the commonwealth along the James River. This year they're introducing Hops in the Park, a one-day festival of all things Virginia and all things beer and all things food, this Saturday Nov. 14.

Here are the Top 5 Reasons to Get Hyped for Hops in the Park.

The Beer

This festival is called hops in the park with good reason, a ton of amazing Virginia brewers will be on hand. ADMISSION IS FREE and beers can be purchased with tickets and you'll need cash for tickets, but ATM's will be on hand.

The #RVA Beer

Ok, we're a little biased and a little focused on beer, but our friends from Strangeways, Triple Crossing, Rusty Beaver, Hardywood, Ardent and Steam Bell will be on hand at Hops in the Park. Here's a full list of breweries.

Mead and Cider

Black Heath Meadery out of RVA will be on hand and there will be no shortage of cider. How awesome is that? Mead and cider!

Henricus isn't messing around, they're going to have period-influenced food on hand from oysters to turkey legs. You can also purchase a VIP pass for $55 that gets you some free beer and food.

The Park

Hops in the Park is going to be a lot like a beer festival at a Renaissance Fair with way more historical accuracy. You'll be able to drink a pint, eat a bite of turkey leg and interact with living history.

On top of all that, there will be live music, a speaker series about farming and harvesting in the commonwealth, more food and more beer and crisp amazing fall weather in a beautiful setting. And beer and food.
