Krampusnacht RVA isn't your average holiday celebration. This celebration of alpine traditions brings together people who are interested in elaborate costumes and a mischievous side of the holidays. Krampusnacht 2014 takes place December 6th starting at 6 p.m. in Carytown.

Here are 5 reasons you shouldn't miss this uniquely Richmond celebration.

1. The Costumes

Every Krampus costume at the event is going to be an elaborate, handmade affair since there aren't many Krampus costume stores.

2. Better Than Elf on the Shelf

Kids misbehaving? Introduce them to Krampus and tell them about Krampus' proclivity for capturing naughty children in his sack and spiriting them away to his lair.

3. Krampus After party!

Portrait host will host a Krampus after party after the event.

4. It's Better Than an Ugly Sweater Party

Your Instagram feed is going to be the coolest this holiday season when it's filled with photos of Krampuses (Krampusi? We don't know what the plural of Krampus is.)
