14th Annual James River Writers Conference

Every year since 2003, James River Writers has hosted an annual two-day conference in the fall. Known nationally for its southern hospitality, collegial atmosphere, and access to literary super stars, the conference attracts guests from all over the U.S. Panels are a mix of business and craft topics and provide invaluable information for writers of all stages and genres. Highlights include the opportunity for a one-on-one meeting with an agent (included in conference admission) and the First Pages panel, which offers anonymous critiques of attendees' opening manuscript page. Writers often cite the friendliness and sense of community as reasons they return for multiple years.

This year's Participants include authors Sarah MacLean, Gini Koch, Lamar Giles, Padma Venkatraman, Jessica Lahey, and Josh Funk; and literary agents Gemma Cooper (Bent Agency), Moe Ferrara (Book Ends Literary), Katie Kotchman (Don Congdon), and Christopher Rhodes (The Stewart Agency). Master Classes will take place on October 14 at the Richmond public library main branch.
