Tech For Troops Launches Inaugural Bourbon & Cigars Event to Advance Veteran Workforce Development
Tech For Troops, a Richmond-based nonprofit dedicated to empowering under-resourced Veterans and their families through technology, training, and workforce development, is proud to announce its First Annual Bourbon & Cigars event, taking place on Friday, May 22, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm at American Legion Post 354 in Midlothian, Virginia.
Set along the scenic James River, the inaugural event is designed as a refined outdoor experience that brings together business leaders, Veteran advocates, and community supporters for an evening of premium bourbon tastings, handcrafted cigars, and meaningful connection.
The evening will feature a curated selection of high-end bourbons, including offerings from Four Branches Bourbon, alongside premium cigars from Exitoso Cigars. Guests will enjoy light jazz by DJ DNice804, a bonfire gathering space, and a thoughtfully designed atmosphere that balances relaxation with purpose.
The event will open with an exclusive VIP hour from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM, offering early access to premium tastings, a private wild-game station, and an elevated hospitality experience. General admission will follow, allowing attendees to engage with vendors, participate in silent and live auctions, and network with fellow supporters.
A central component of the evening will be its mission-driven programming, including keynote remarks from retired Navy SEAL Master Chief Harold Underdown and a personal impact story from Tech For Troops Director of Operations and U.S. Air Force Veteran Darryl Crewe. These moments are designed to connect attendees directly to the organization’s work and the real outcomes it creates for Veterans transitioning into the digital workforce.
Proceeds from the event will directly support Tech For Troops’ programs, which provide refurbished technology, digital skills training, and career pathways for Veterans seeking long-term stability and employment. Every ticket and sponsorship contributes to expanding access to critical resources that help Veterans build sustainable futures in today’s technology-driven economy.
“This event represents more than a night of connection and premium experiences,” said Mark Casper, CEO and President of Tech For Troops. “It is an opportunity for the community to come together in support of Veterans and play an active role in creating pathways to meaningful careers and long-term success.”
The evening will conclude with a high-energy live auction featuring rare, signed collectible items, followed by a closing social hour around the fire pits overlooking the river.
Tickets and sponsorship opportunities are now available.
