You don’t need to be an artist in order to participate, and it’s okay if you’re a little scared of bees and other things “buzzing” in the garden. Through the process of creating your own bumble bee drawing, you’ll learn how to identify the bumble bees in your backyard; why bumble bees are 2-4 times more effective pollinators per bee than honey bees or solitary bees; what to plant for pollinators regardless of the size of your yard (or lack of it); how to distinguish wasps, hornets, and the flies that mimic bumble bees; why bumble bees are an annual insect; and more! Stephey is enrolled in a pollinator steward certification program through Pollinator Partnership and is excited to share what she’s learning with you.
