The Chamber Music Society of Central Virginia ends its 21st season with a concert that contrasts thought-provoking, meditative chamber music, with famous, tuneful music by Antonin Dvorak. In this concert for four players, the ethereal music of Latvian composer Pēteris Vasks and rousing spirituals of Adolphus Hailstork sit side-by-side with the Dvorak's beloved Piano Quartet in E-flat major. Also featured is the premiere of "Journey of Her Soul," a new piece for piano quartet by Virginia-born composer Joe Jaxson, Composer-in-Residence for the Richmond Symphony and the Austin Brass Band.
