LC Cinema is a pop-up film series founded in Richmond, Virginia. It will host its first set of screenings at The Branch Museum from June 3rd to 5th, 2022. This inaugural series will feature three films over three days: The Queen (1968) directed by Frank Simon, The Comfort of Strangers (1990) directed by Paul Schrader, and Black Girl (1966) directed by Ousmane Sembène. Each film has been carefully selected to stir connection among curious spectators and seasoned film fans alike. Hosted in the spacious Social Gallery within the architectural jewel that is The Branch Museum on Monument Avenue, LC Cinema will create a unique and welcoming environment to experience engaging but often overlooked films together, as a community. LC Cinema will also offer concessions inspired by cinema snacks from around the world, and have vintage books and magazines available for purchase. Tickets are $14 and limited.
