As part of the Virginia Museum of History & Culture’s 250th initiative, join the Virginia Museum of History & Culture for a special in-person version of our popular Movie Mythbusting series. Guests will enjoy a live screening of the Revolutionary War epic The Patriot (2000), starring Mel Gibson and Heath Ledger, with live commentary from Virginia Museum of History & Culture staff on what’s true, what’s not, and unique connections to the Virginia Museum of History & Culture collection.
Tickets include after-hours access to the Virginia Museum of History & Culture's signature VA250th exhibition, Give Me Liberty: Virginia & The Forging of a Nation. Wraps, sandwiches, salads, snacks (including popcorn!), and drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) will be available for purchase from the museum café.
Please note: • The Patriot is rated R. This is an 18+ event only. • Due to the movie’s running time, we will be fast forwarding through certain sections to facilitate discussion. We suggest watching the movie on your own before attending the program.
