Science After Dark: Slime Night!

Imagine 80 gallons of slime every color of the rainbow. Well, you don't have to imagine--the Science Museum of Virginia is making it a reality! Get gooey and gloppy with Glitter Slime, Galaxy Slime, Fluffy Slime, Lego Slime and more! Check out 20 different slime stations, grab a slime recipe and watch slime-making demos.

Head to The Dome for a special all-live Cosmic Expedition planetarium show at 6:30 p.m. or 7:15 p.m. Then stick around for the slime-filled 1984 fan favorite "Ghostbusters” at 8 p.m.

Weather permitting, the Richmond Astronomical Society will be on the front lawn with telescopes letting guests stargaze after the sun goes down.

And while you are at the Museum, check out our newest exhibition "Going Places." By climbing aboard a flight simulator to pilot a plane, riding on a hovercraft, trying to pack a cargo ship without capsizing it, sailing a land yacht across heavy winds, competing on recumbent racer, controlling an airship and managing a train station, guests will observe, understand and use an incredible range of travel technology to see how it makes our lives easier and better. Find out more about "Going Places" here: http://www.smv.org/visit/experiences/going-places.

Admission to Science After Dark is $10, which includes Museum exhibits and one Dome Feature (either a Cosmic Expedition or "Ghostbusters"). Additional Dome features are $5. Museum members enjoy free exhibit admission and a free Cosmic Expedition. Members can add the feature film to their visit for $5 or can use a Dome pass. Tickets must be purchased at the door.

Food and drinks, including craft beer, are available for purchase during Science After Dark in the Periodic Table Café.
