Selma: The Bridge to the Ballot

Selma: The Bridge to the Ballot tells the story of the forgotten heroes in the fight for voting rights—the courageous students and teachers of Selma, Alabama. By standing up against injustice despite intimidation, arrest, and violence, these protestors achieved one of the most significant victories of the civil rights era. The documentary, which is narrated by Academy Award winner Octavia Spencer, serves as a reminder that each of us has the ability to bring about powerful social change by exercising our right to participate in our democracy.

The 2017 Created Equal Film Series is presented by Bon Secours Health Foundation. Commentary provided by the Reverend Grady W. Powell.
