Wilton Makers

Wilton House Museum debuts Wilton Makers in the Summer of 2019, a new line of programming that connects audiences with traditional trades and crafts from the 18th and 19th centuries. Join us for a coffee and a morning chat with a local artisan while they demonstrate and explain their trade, and how it’s kept alive today.

July’s Wilton Makers features Black Creek Workshop. Black Creek Workshop is a collaboration of husband and wife team, Ben and Maeve Bristow. Our firm specializes in Historic Preservation & Custom Cabinetry. Ben is a highly skilled historic carpenter and cabinetmaker with extensive experience in the preservation carpentry field. Maeve is trained as an art conservator & specializes in architectural painted surfaces and historic interiors. Black Creek’s team also consists of full time journeyman carpenters and cabinetmakers as well as entry level workers who are just getting started in the field of historic preservation.

The second installment of Wilton Makers will take place Saturday, July 20nd, from 11 am – 12 pm.
