79. Gorgeous restaurant and perfect for a romantic date or to bring your parents. You can sit inside or in the outdoor courtyard in the nicer weather. It is located in a prime location downtown in the "cultural center" of New Haven, next door to Yale Rep. The food is not your traditional Italian spaghetti and meatballs. It is considered "upscale Northern Italian". It's a great opportunity to try something new (i.e. chicken stuffed with smoked mozzarella, ham with saffron, red pepper, sweet pea rissoto, fontina cheese and demi glace). The chef experiments with many types of cheeses and vegetables. There seems to be at least five different ingredients in each dish. Entrees range from $20-$28. The wine selection is endless. Closed on Mondays and 50% off bottles of wine on Tuesdays. Service is fantastic. They are well-informed on all the dishes and ingredients in each one. Don't be afraid to ask for wine recommendations with your meals either!
