Woodlawn Museum and Black House

The Woodlawn Museum, located in Ellsworth, was opened to the public in 1929 by the Hancock County Trustees of Public Reservations, the group that helped form Acadia National Park. It includes a 180-acre public park and an historic house museum that contains all of the original family furnishings and objects. Woodlawn is widely considered to be one of the most significant historic properties in New England.
