Summer is getting closer, which means tourism will soon pick up in our amazing region. RVA businesses and attractions collectively benefit from out-of-town visitors, so let’s collectively work to make our region as beautiful as it can be. On May 11, join Richmond Region Tourism in the first annual Tourism Picks Up day to literally pick up before tourism picks up.

That Friday, take one hour of your day to step outside and look around. Does trash need to be picked up? Do weeds need to be pulled? Could a mulch bed use fresh mulch or flowers? If everyone spruces up their slice of the region, by the end of the day, RVA will be ready for its close-up.

Commit to participating in Tourism Picks Up by posting on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram using #RVATourismCares. Remember that hashtag and use it on May 11 to share pictures of your clean up in action!

Let’s grab our gloves, head outside and pick up together!

If you'd like to participate, please email here and let us know.
