TRANSPORTATION/PARKING: Free Parking widely available on street, as well as public lot behind 2800 North block and public parking deck behind 2900 North Block (behind theater).
Bus Stop located 1 block east of theatre, on Cary St near corner of Boulevard.
ACCESSIBILITY: The Theatre rests at street level, with several seating cutouts on aisles at the back of the theater. New seating in center section, accessible platform added and first fully accessible restroom.
ABOUT: The Byrd Theatre has been independently operated since first opening its doors Dec 24, 1928. In 2007, The Byrd Theatre Foundation formed to revitalize the theatre as a center for film, expanding the big screen experience, celebrating the art of cinema and preserving Virginia's grand motion picture palace.
