RVA’s Performing Arts

In the spotlight: theater, dance and musical performance

Being a hub for creatives, you can imagine the performing arts scene here. The Virginia Repertory Theatre creates professional productions of classic comedies, dramas and musicals for adults and special children’s performances. The Richmond Triangle Players, an LGBT troupe, produces diverse and edgy shows in Scott’s Addition.  The Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen features art exhibitions, concerts, plays and musicals, modern and classic dance performances, the Latin Ballet of Virginia and much more. At The Henrico Theater,  you can watch musical and theatrical performances in a landmark Art Deco building. Every year, Agecroft Hall hosts The Richmond Shakespeare Festival, produced by Quill Theatre, in the courtyard of its authentic 16th-century manor home, rebuilt brick by brick here in 1926. Catch performances of touring Broadway shows, the Virginia Opera, the Richmond Symphony Orchestra, Richmond Ballet and more at the historic Dominion Energy Center and iconic Altria Theater.
