Cathedral of the Sacred Heart

Welcome to the Cathedral–mother church of the Catholic Diocese of Richmond; treasured historic landmark; and center for worship and outreach. Recorded on the National and State Registries of Historic Landmarks, the Cathedral emerged out of two needs: ministry to Virginia during the rebuilding years after the Civil War, and, subsequent growth in the Church. The Cathedral is open for visitors Monday-Friday 9:00 am – 4:00 pm. On Saturdays and Sundays we are open only during Mass.
