- Description The Henrico Sports & Events Center opened to the public in December 2023. This 185,000-square-foot facility, situated at the former Virginia Center Commons, aims to boost Henrico County’s sports tourism economy. The new arena has already scheduled over 45 events through 2024, including graduation ceremonies for Henrico County Public Schools, the Atlantic 10 Women’s Basketball Tournament in 2024 and 2025, the Sips and Strings Concert, the Atlantic Coast Volleyball Tournament, and various other sports and entertainment events. Operated by Legends Global, the center is expected to generate over $60 million annually from its sports and events programming. The Henrico Sports & Events Center is owned by the Henrico Sports & Entertainment Authority.
