Historic Jackson Ward

Known for its African-American heritage, lively Jackson Ward is home to the Maggie L. Walker National Historic Site, the Victorian mansion home of the civil rights activist. The Black History Museum and Cultural Center of Virginia offers interactive exhibits, and there’s live music at the iconic Hippodrome Theater.
