Gotcha Dog Day
Adopt a pet during the pandemic? Celebrate your “Gotcha Dog” anniversary in the Richmond Region, a pet paradise of dog-friendly hotels, restaurants and attractions, along with miles of trails and parks.
Begin your day with a morning “paw-rade” with your pup through Floodwall Park, over the T. Tyler Potterfield Bridge and to Brown’s Island where you can pause for a water break and a game of fetch.
Walk down to the newly repainted Haxall Canal Power Plant to see the latest murals curated by RVA artists. Snap a photo of your pet in front of the murals for the perfect colorful backdrop!
For lunch, venture out to the pet-friendly Q Barbeque restaurant in Glen Allen for pulled pork, ribs and other delights.
Discover one or more of the fantastic pet-friendly parks in the region for your afternoon outing:
Chester Dog Park at Goyne Park
Midlothian Mines Park Amphitheater
Relax on the patio at Max’s on Broad, a spacious Belgian eatery in the heart of the Arts District in downtown Richmond. Be sure to stop by the Maggie Walker Historical Plaza just outside the restaurant to learn more about the trailblazing Richmonder’s legacy.
Complete the evening at Ruff Canine Club in Scott’s Addition, Richmond’s first dog bar(k). Membership is required.
